In 1912, a group of underpaid, overworked and oppressed textile workers rallied together over the phrase, 'Bread and Roses! Bread and Roses!' This group of people (largely immigrants and women) acknowledged the need for physical sustenance but realized that there was something deeper that allowed people to be people. Both 'bread' and 'roses' are important aspects of life that allow people to not only live, but to thrive....
